Welcome Home Bibi!

I would like to introduce Bibi to our little pack. Bibi came to us this past year with her brother when their owner got very sick and did not make it out of the hospital. Jack and Bibi were very sick little babies and have required extensive care over the past few months. Both have gained much weight, are full of energy and enjoying feeling healthy. Jack will be available for adoption as soon as we have a growth removed from his leg. Bibi will be retiring with us due to her age and fear issues she has. She has come a long way, but we don't feel right about sending an old lady somewhere else to try and readjust in her last couple of years. She has been through so much. First losing her dad, ending up in a kennel for nearly two months, feeling sick and scared for so long, Bibi had almost given up hope. Her whole world has been ripped apart this past year and our heart really goes out to this little trooper. Bibi is happy here with us and LOVES her time outdoors. We will happily add Bibi to our little pack and ensure her last years are filled with love, security and happiness. Welcome HOME Bibi!

With Heartfelt Thanks

I would like to send out a huge thank you to Ray and Sherry Sheppard for their most generous donation of building supplies and furniture to assist with our renovations. The supplies came at the most amazing time as we were seeking everything that was donated. Every penny we save on materials can be used elsewhere and the beautiful oak doors and trim etc. will add such a wonderful finishing touch. The kids are anxiously waiting for us to finish up so we can put their new furniture in place :) This will all be enjoyed by us all and we are so very grateful for your kindness yet again. Thank you so so very much!!

What a beautiful Christmas and hope you all truly enjoyed the season too! There are so many folks who helped to make our Christmas truly special and we want to thank everyone for all your kindness. The season started with HUGE bags filled with treats and toys for the kids. Thank you to Tara and Gary Kohinski for all these amazing gifts. Everyone had brand new toys, and of course everyone was truly happy. We were especially happy watching the kids freaking out unsure which great new toy to grab next. Next came a surprise donation from FFAS which honestly made us cry. It wasn't expected, surely helps out a lot and was a truly kind gift at Christmas. Thank you to everyone involved in the FFAS for all the amazing things you do throughout the year. Many lives are saved and changed forever because of your kindness, thoughtfulness and compassion. Thanks for all you do!! Next thanks to Mike Bouchard and his family for another huge surprise of cat litter and food for the kids. Knowing we don't have to worry about these things for awhile is an incredible gift. We always want to know our kids will have all they need, and this family helps MANY rescues the whole year through. Thank you as well for your incredible kindness, compassion and dedication. A huge thank you to Sherry Van Wynsberghe, who does so much as well throughout the year to assist in every aspect of rescue efforts and be a strong voice for our homeless friends. We received a donation as part of the ongoing Regal fundraiser which helped many rescues in our community. The food, treat and blanket donations for the kids was also hugely appreciated by us all. The kitties LOVE the new blankies and are enjoying treats they have never experienced! Thank you of course to Winnipeg Pet Rescue for sharing in their Christmas donations to some of us smaller rescues. The folks at Winnipeg Pet Rescue are amazing and truly believe in helping all rescue efforts. Their dedication and compassion is an inspiration to us all!

Thank you all for making our Christmas really special. The gift of caring and sharing is about the nicest one you could ever receive, it is the true spirit of Christmas and we hope you all felt the same glow this year too!

Thank you must go out to a couple of wonderful veterinary hospitals that do so much to help our homeless friends every day.  The wonderful staff at Catrysse Veterinary Services are always there when we need them for the kids.  Even when things are incredibly busy for them, they always make time for any animal that needs their help.  They help many rescues in our city and allow them to provide the best possible care at affordable prices when you have many animals that require veterinary care.  The time and caring spent is much appreciated and means so much to us and so many others I know.

Dogs at play

Another big thank you to all the staff and volunteers at Machray Animal Hospital who are currently working very hard and volunteering their time on weekends to assist TNR efforts in our community.  Of course, a huge thank you to Jessica Thompson who came up with the idea and worked hard to make the new C.A.R.E. programs a reality.   In a very short period of time,  these wonderful folks volunteered their time and fixed a total of 51 cats and saved them from a life of breeding on the streets.  This is incredible and we hope the next year will be even more successful and hopefully others may join!

A very big thank you to Rhonda Tannahill and her family for saving Maggie the mastiff from an uncertain future. She is truly an amazing lady, such a joy to be around and we can't thank you enough for helping her when she needed someone.  We love her dearly and know she will make the most amazing friend you could find.  Your donations were also much appreciated and seriously helps us in continuing our work.  Thank you all so much!

Another big thank you to Trina and the Burns-Bannister family.  They took in our "Chicken Licken," otherwise known as Sasha and have already done so much for her.  When they came to visit, Chicken Licken was almost nonexistent, replaced by this amazing confident young lady.  In a short period of time, Sasha's confidence has skyrocketed and she is so obviously loved and so truly happy.  We appreciate you taking her and and giving her all the patience and love she needed to help her become who she is today.  She couldn't have found a better home or family.  Your donations are also truly appreciated and we hope you know that.  Thank you so kindly for all you have done!

Thank you yet again to Mike Bouchard and his amazing family for the huge donation of food for the kids.  It helps us so much and it is incredible not to worry about food for the kids.  Feeling loved and safe and providing guidance, providing good food and treats etc., along with providing proper medical care as needed are our three main goals for the kids while they are here looking for homes.  Every time Mike donates, we are set for quite some time with food.  This takes away one of our three main worries for the kids.  It also allows us to spend the funds on other things or bills needed to keep us running.  This is huge to have one of those worries disappear for awhile.  We hope you realize how much of an impact this continues to make and really appreciate all that you do!
